Notification preferences
Updated 2026-04-18
Notification behavior in Pinnora has two layers: workspace defaults and member-level delivery overrides.
Workspace defaults
Defaults are configured under Settings -> Email (/org/your-slug?tab=settings&settings=email).
Role required: Owner/Admin can change workspace defaults.
Default categories usually include:
- Billing emails
- Invite lifecycle emails
- Module/run completion emails
These defaults define the baseline delivery posture for the organization.
Personal delivery preferences
Each member can set their own delivery preferences for the same categories.
Role required: All members can edit their own personal delivery preferences.
Personal settings are evaluated as overrides relative to workspace defaults, so users can opt out of categories they do not want.
How effective delivery is resolved
Effective email delivery is resolved using:
- Organization defaults
- Member-specific override (if present)
- Event category (billing, invites, module completion)
When an email is skipped, it is usually because either the org default is off for that category, or the member has an explicit opt-out.
If notifications are not arriving
Check in this order:
- Workspace default for that category
- Personal delivery preference for the target member
- Recipient email identity (correct account/org)
- Provider/domain status and sender configuration
