Credits & billing

Updated 2026-04-18

Credits fund intelligence tool runs. Billing is where organization owners manage subscription state, payment methods, and purchases. Non-owner roles can review usage and limits in read-only mode. Everything here is operational guidance; legal definitions still live under Legal.

Credits roll up to the organization. Individual members consume them when they run permitted tools inside your projects.

Credits at a glance

  • Credit balance is tracked per organization, not per user profile.
  • Each tool advertises how many credits a standard run expects—see Tools overview for the matrix.
  • Navigation to billing is always under Billing in the workspace sidebar (/org/your-slug/billing).
  • Some plans expose allocation rules so operators can earmark pools without exposing the entire balance—what you see depends on configuration.

When you need modality-level rates—for example comparing text vs. video SKUs—open AI model credit rates for tabbed tables (text, image, video). Figures are expressed in credits per token batch, asset, or second so you can estimate usage before you choose heavier models.

Billing permissions by role

Role required: Owner for billing mutations (checkout, top-ups, spend controls, portal actions).

Read-only: Admin, Editor, Viewer can open Billing and inspect plan, usage, limits, and spend status.

See Billing permissions for the exact matrix.

Top-ups and checkout

Self-serve flows surface options such as Upgrade, Manage billing, and Add credits for owners.

Credit top-ups frequently sell in fixed increments (for example blocks of ten credits). The Billing page spells out increments that apply to you before you confirm checkout.

Plans and guardrails

Depending on tier, limits may include:

  • How many organizations you can own versus simply join
  • How many projects each organization may create simultaneously
  • Seat counts and pending invitations
  • Frequency caps or experimental ceilings on certain tools

When you hit a guardrail, the UI calls out which limit fired and usually links to Billing or upgrade paths instead of failing silently.

Receipts, taxes, and disputes

Keep automated emails from your payment provider beside the in-app Billing totals. For statutory policies—refunds, renewals, sales tax posture—refer to Billing policy inside Legal.

If numbers still disagree after reconciling receipts, contact us through the technical inbox listed on Legal with organization slug, invoice IDs, and timestamps so we can trace ledger entries quickly.
